First to place the context:
The journey to Acceptance was one based on looking at the various Energy Levels as defined by Dr. David Hawkins in his book Power vs Force. At Energy Levels below 200 one is considered to be coming from a place of Force. At Energy Levels of 200 and above a person is coming from a place of Power. The levels of Power are defined as Courage, Neutrality, Willingness, Acceptance, Reason, Love, Joy, Peace and Enlightenment. Given where I felt I am currently at, Willingness, it was then how to get to the next stage, Acceptance.
However, I realized that getting to Acceptance was not enough. What I needed, what this Planet needs, is for more of us to be in a state of Love. So the journey is now one of moving into a state of Love (beyond Acceptance and beyond Reason).
That all being said, how did I even get here. Where did this current journey all begin. It began when my wife, Bonnie, introduced me to my coach, Leon VanderPol. To quote from the start of Leon’s website (http://www.unusualleading.com) on who he is:
I’m Leon VanderPol, and I am dedicated to helping today’s leaders awaken to the power of their inner reality and to lead and serve from that place.
So my journey with Leon began into awakening that inner reality inside myself. It has been really a journey of defining me – going well beyond the limited views that I had of myself (It was Leon that told me about the book Power vs. Force).
With Leon’s coaching and guidance and Bonnie’s support [Bonnie is also a coach - I have to give her a plug in what I write 
- http://duartecoaching.com/], this journey has gone through many stages in the last 8 months. With a focus on my business, it lately was coming up with three guiding principles for myself. These three principles were how I was going to conduct myself in business and also with those that I do business with. It is now MUCH, MUCH, more than that, leading me to express it as:
L.I.T. IT UP!
L – LOVE
I – INTEGRITY
T- TRANSPARENCY
To quote Leon:
This is it, with these words you have made a bold declaration of personal intent, for your business but in essence it is for you and all others whom you serve and who serve with you.
This is a BOLD statement. These are BOLD words. So I will start by defining what these words, Love, Integrity and Transparency mean to me.
L.I.T. IT UP! means:
LOVE: The intangible essence of life that permeates and absorbs everything. It is the canvas to the painting I Am creating.
INTEGRITY: Treating people (everyone – business partners and competitors) openly and fairly; everything is honest, upfront, gentlemanly. This is the new face of business. In this space there is not a worry about what I have done when it is done with full integrity.
TRANSPARENCY: Things are not hidden from those I do business with. Nothing is held back. There is no wondering about hidden agendas or motives.
To again quote Leon:
L.I.T. IT UP! is your commitment to yourself and the organization.
However, just making the statement is not enough. In order to really live it, it has to be internalized, it has to become part of my Inner Reality.
Then comes the next coaching suggestion:

From the video and stories I took away that there are certain ways that I can readily define myself and therefore I am choosing to be the best of these. I am choosing to be the best son, the best brother, the best nephew, the best friend, the best lover, the best engineer, the best husband, the best father, the best teacher, the best student, the best president, the business person, the best entrepreneur, the best leader and Metering Support Services will be the best metering services company in the world.
However, being the best (even though I understand there can truly be more than one) brings a comparison to something or someone. These declarations of being the best are still missing something to really have the commitment sink in. Therefore, what is beyond being the best … and that for me is in Creating.
Also, from the video, I understood that part of the message that to really move things for yourself, and the world, you have to truly COMMIT to something. And yet, the part that really sunk home for me was two simple words – I AM. These two words are full of so much power and meaning that for me they are beyond measure. They form the essence of everything. They are literally creation itself.
The true power that is within all of us is the power to CREATE. It is our link into the universal consciousness of all humanity, it is our link to God, our link to the Divine. And this power of creation is found within those two words “I AM”. So with these two words added to my three guiding principles brings forth for me my COMMITMENT, my CREATION:
I AM LOVE
I AM INTEGRITY
I AM TRANSPARENCY
I AM
L.I.T. IT UP!
This is what defines me in all aspects of my life, from personal to business. It guides, actually it is, all my actions and my way of being. It is who I AM.
To quote Steve Hardison: SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE!!!
I like the idea of actioning life from a place of specific intention i.e. Courage, Neutrality, Willingness, Acceptance, Reason, Love, Joy, Peace and Enlightenment and then focusing on particular areas that you identify yourself with, i.e. being a father, brother, partner, etc. I get a feeling of aliveness when i choose where to operate from rather than being passively reactionary.
